EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROGRAM Housing Opportunities Made Equal of Greater Cincinnati (HOME) offers a variety of Fair Housing training opportunities to both consumers and housing providers in the Greater Cincinnati area. Throughout the year, scheduled classes are offered. Custom designed courses are also available for groups to meet their specific training needs. There are registration fees for some of the classes, while others are funded through grants and are free to the participants. Each of the classes below can be scheduled at different times and places to meet the needs to those individuals who are not available for scheduled offerings. There must be at least four or more participates before additional classes can be taught. "Fair Housing Training for the Real Estate Sales Industry" "Fair Housing Training for Rental Property Management Teams" HOME Also provides Consumer Education for Non-Profit Organizations, Schools, Childcare Providers, Civic and Church groups free of charge. Ideal for meetings, the presentation covers general Fair Housing Law and can be focused on specific topics as they relate to the organization. "Housing Rights Training for Social Workers and Case Workers" Be more effective in assisting you clients by taking this free course on fair housing and tenant/landlord issues. Many of your clients could be possible victims of housing illegal discrimination and not know it or may not know what to do about it. Learn what you can do to assist your clients in their fight to obtain what rightfully belongs to them. "Fair Housing Education for School, Universities, and Colleges" Teachers can get free speakers for their classes to discuss consumer's rights concerning fair housing compliance, discriminatory practices and their impact on victims, hate crimes, testing and recourse for the consumers. Law schools covering civil rights laws/issues, psychology classes covering the impact of psychological effects on discrimination on individuals, courses that deal with race/class issues, social studies and/or American government classes are just a few areas where this type of information might be useful. Hidden Treasures: A Guide to Integrated Communities in Hamilton County HOME and the Cincinnatus Association sponsored a new publication called “Hidden Treasures.” The bright, graphic neighborhood guide highlights the 15 communities in Hamilton County identified as being racially integrated for over 20 years.
